Cinder is an essential business that is staying open during stressful times

All 3 Cinder locations will be staying open during the Coronavirus epidemic. This is because cannabis dispensaries have been ruled as essential business for the time being. Maybe you’ve heard the phrases and seen the memes but what does it really mean? What is an essential business and why does it mean we’re allowed to stay open right now?

Cannabis & Corona

In a live broadcast on March 23, 2020 (Monday), Washington state’s governor Jay Inslee ordered everyone to stay at home and not to leave other than for urgent matters. Places that are a necessity to human life like hospitals, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. are going to stay open so that no one gets stranded but the number of confirmed cases and deaths in our state are rising and the only way to slow it down and eventually stop it is by practicing social distancing and self quarantine.

Essential Workers

It can be a good or bad thing depending on each situation but many people in WA state are quarantining right now and unable to go to work. The only people in the work force that aren’t being sent home are those that have been ruled as essential workers. Essential workers will continue going to work because to enforce public health and safety.

Here is a list of the essential workers that will continue working during COVID-19

The Exception to the “Stay At Home” Order

Cannabis dispensaries have been exempt from the “Stay-At-Home” order that WA state governor Jay Inslee gave on Monday because it has been ruled as an essential business. Despite all the scary stuff going on, I think that this cannabis news is so cool because that means that statewide, cannabis is being recognized as essential for both the well-being of Washington state residents and the state of its economy. Can’t deny it anymore.

“This is going to be an interesting time in history to look back at” – Baylie Tyus, HQ Education

Our state governor has allowed dispensaries to take advantage of curbside pickup for the time being if they wish. The usage of online ordering has gone up. People are stocking up on weed as much as they are toilet paper. Many dispensaries are staying open because since cannabis has been ruled as essential, it’s business as usual and the business is booming in the cannabis industry. It’s going to be interesting to look back at this time in 2030 and remember that the last decade started with a global pandemic… and if things play out the right way, the beginning of this decade could see cannabis ownership and usage become more acceptable. Maybe later in this decade we’ll see cannabis delivery services or even be allowed to mail it and sample in stores.

California has a cannabis restaurant where you can eat in-or-noninfused food and smoke at your table too.

“What a time to be alive” – Shyla McKibbens, Valley Budtender

Cinder is going to stay open because we want to be able to provide our customers and friends something good to smoke on during stressful times like these. The entire team is dedicated to being as safe as possible and remembering to clean and disinfect everything in the store and use hand sanitizer between every transaction. We have created a system so that people can stand in stations that keep everyone at least 6 feet apart to practice social distancing. We have door checkers to ensure that the stores won’t be so full that our customers won’t be able to stand 6 feet apart.

This is the safest thing to do if we are going to be outside and interacting with people when there is a virus going around. Thank you to all of our customers who have been patient with us and appreciated the measures that we have taken to keep our stores clean and our customers safe and healthy.

Now that you’ve gotten your weed, stocked up on food and gotten all the toilet paper you need, go quarantine yourself. Help slow down the outbreak by limiting the amount of people you’re interacting with. Try one of these strains out while you’re practicing. Later we’ll give you some ideas on how to keep yourself entertained at home.
