In this article, we’ve laid out some of the hottest events going on in the various neighborhoods of Spokane, so you can rest assured there will be something to do no matter which side of Spokane you find yourself on.
South Perry
South Perry Street Fair | Saturday, July 16th, 2022
Since 1999, the South Perry District has celebrated each summer with a fair that has been held in many different capacities over the years. In 2019, the fair covered four blocks of Perry Street and four parking lots with arts, crafts, activities, local businesses, and food vendors. In addition, there were two stages, a kid’s fair, and so much more! Check out what the South Perry Street Fair has to offer this year by heading down on July 16th from 10am – 10pm!
Browne’s Addition
Ongoing concerts at The Lucky You Lounge
Located on Sunset Boulevard in Browne’s Addition, the Lucky You Lounge is a two-story restaurant, bar, venue, and nightclub that’s open 7 day’s a week. Here, you can bring your friends out for a night of drinks, eats, and great live music. Performances you can catch this summer include Honey Suckle / Little Wolf on July 17th at 8pm, Zonky Night – Monthly Jazz Variety Show on July 19th at 8pm, and Party Like It’s 1989 ft. DJ Unifest on July 22nd at 9pm.
Garland District
Midnight Movies at The Garland Theatre
The historic Garland Theatre is the ultimate movie-going destination here in Spokane. You can catch all new releases as well as classic second-run films at a great price. Plus, Midnight Movies are coming back this Saturday on July 16th! Even further, their shadow cast is putting on a summer performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on July 31st at midnight. So, make sure you make it down to the Garland District for a summer of fun!
North Monroe Business District
Meet the Makers: Local Vendor Event | Saturday, July 23rd
Spokane is heating up this summer with new creations from local creatives. Beat the heat and check out locally crafted jewelry, home decor, prints, stickers, custom accessories, and more! Come support local artists and have fun with the whole family. Experience fun activities, over 30 artisans, crafters, and all the supplies for any project available over at Spokane Art Supply from 10am – 5pm on July 23rd.
Kendall Yards
Free Programs @ Spark Central
Spark Central is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that ignites the creativity, innovation, and imagination necessary for people to forge the path to their best future. They break down barriers to creativity like cost, confidence, and access by offering transformative programs, access to innovative technology, and a welcoming creative community for youth, teens, and even adults of all economic backgrounds. Some of their upcoming programs include Drop In & RPG on July 16th at 1:00pm, Drop In & Write on July 19th at 5:30pm, and Drop In & Draw on July 20th at 5:30pm. These events are fun for all ages and are free to attend thanks to community support.
Union District
Visit The Hive
The Hive is a non-traditional library centered around arts, education, and providing the public with free event space. In addition to being a public meeting space, The Hive offers four studio spaces reserved for an application-based artist residency program. These spaces allow artists to take their art to the next level, foster connection, and provide free arts education for the public. Some events you can catch at the Hive are the Printmaking Techniques on Clay: Hands-on Workshop on July 27th from 6-8pm and Grow Your Garden and Your Community on August 4th from 4-5pm. So, be sure to check out The Hive if you’re near the neighborhood this summer!
University District
Hike on the Trails
The University District is home to some of the best trail walking terrain in Spokane. Here, you’ll find the Centennial Trail, Ben Burr Trail, and Spokane Water Trail conveniently tucked into the same beautiful neighborhood. After a walk on the trails, you can enjoy riverside outdoor dining, kick back with friends over drinks, or exploring West Main’s eclectic shops, or attend a world-class concert, lecture, or basketball game.
Hillyard
Hillyard Festival | August 5th, 6th & 7th
