About the Grow
To begin, all plants at Mt.Baker Gardens grow in Grodan rock wool cubes. This substrate was innovated to support soilless growing and is made of stone wool. Stone wool is a clean and recyclable material formed of natural, abundant basalt rock. It’s thanks to this material that soilless growing places minimal strain on our world’s precious resources. In fact, it uses up to 20% less fertilizer, 50% less water, and 75% less land. As a result, Mt.Baker’s grow is very sustainable, and makes a clear effort to minimize waste.
In addition to their use of sustainable substrate, Mt.Baker Gardens follows WSLCB and WSDA i502 regulations for Integrated Pest Management. The key to their IPM is healthy mother plants and clones. To be sure of this, they scope their plants under a microscope for pests. Additionally, they only use safe and organic products. That means absolutely no harsh chemicals. This is what allows them to bring their customers safe and clean, solventless rosin, rosin carts, and flower products.
Pest Management
So, what is Integrated Pest Management? Integrated Pest Management, also called IPM, is a broad-based approach. It integrates practices for economic control of pests while minimizing risks to people and the environment. Mt.Baker Gardens doesn’t believe in using harsh chemicals as pesticides. Instead, they only apply safe organic pesticides on mothers and plants in the vegetative state. Products they use include Clonex Rooting Gel, Clonex Clone Solution, Dr.Bronner’s SAL SUDS, Canola Oil, Suffoil X, Green Cleaner, Safer 3 in 1, and PureCrop 1.
Clonex Rooting Gel
Firstly, Clonex Rooting Gel ensures root production on cuttings of plants by supplying essential hormones needed for accelerated root development.
Clonex Clone Solution
Afterward, they use Clonex Clone Solution, a plant nutrient specifically formulated for rooted clones and seedlings. It contains a special blend of the highest-quality minerals including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and calcium. These ingredients plus other essential elements aid in root development and vigorous growth.
Dr.Bronner’s SAL SUDS
