When you select a strain, there’s a plethora of criteria that you could use to help you pick out your perfect smoke. Maybe you’re looking for Top Shelf Indoor but still affordable? Good start, but I think we can do better than that. Most importantly, what are you planning on doing? For me, I’ve got a weekend full of Mario Kart and Game of Thrones binging with my significant other. I need something that’s not going to knock me out, make us laugh, and make sure that my drift game doesn’t get messed up.
I knew that there were plenty of strains for such a choice, but one always stands heads and tails above for such an outstanding weekend, Super Lemon Haze. Western Cultured recently switched from nitro packed mylar to glass jars, a big move for this adventure-centric brand. I wanted to see how this move went and if Seatown Lemon haze, their version of Super Lemon Haze, is as good as the Budtenders say. The new glass jar that Western Cultured is now packaging their flower in is top notch and has one feature that I haven’t run across before, a child lock. Their lid also doubles as a quick reference guide for what to expect from this strain: Energy, Refreshing, Focus. Perfect for reminding my girlfriend who the superior drifter is.
SMELL: 9/10
Unlocking the jar is an immediate smack in the face of sour funk. Only in the cannabis world would such a descriptor be so appealing. I want to get lost in the smell, that sweet-sour garbage smell that lets you know Seatown Lemon Haze is here to play. Seatown Lemon Haze doesn’t exude the usual sweet lemon smell that always dominates Super Lemon Haze cuts. Instead, it falls under Western Cultured Sour smell profile. Western Cultured smell profile is a great way to help you decide whether you’ll like a particular strain, if you enjoy the smell you’ll most likely enjoy the high. Snapping the squishy buds apart unlocks the light lemon profile that I’ve come to expect from Super Lemon Haze. But, that sweet funk is ever present.
APPEARANCE: 8/10
Nicely manicured buds with a perfect squish to them. A nice bright green with a few light orange pistols, these snow specked buds are perfect for rolling in a joint or blunt. Perfect amount of moisture and stickiness without gluing to your hands. You can also perfectly rip apart for your bong. I elected for a grinder to maximize my surface area.
TASTE: 7/10
The caryophyllene in Seatown Lemon Haze pops it’s head out to say a passing hello. Other than a light spice, this smoke didn’t produce a heavy taste. Slightly disappointing since the Lemon taste is a favorite part of this strain for me. The smoke was nice and smooth, and I was able to get several big lungfuls in before I started to feel the need to cough.
EXPERIENCE: 9/10
A dance party ensued in my smoke spot before the second bowl had been consumed, the weekend was off to a good start. I let the sweet flows of The Game and Justin Timberlake guide a smile to my face. Seatown Lemon Haze delivers as a classic Super Lemon Haze should, a focused, energetic high that’s perfect for gaming and binge fueled weekends where your attention is needed. Spring and Summer bring better weather, and this strain is perfect for reminding yourself of how spoiled you are as a Washingtonian when you go out for a hike or short walk around Riverfront Park.
