Rochester Farms is a tier three producer/processor in Washington state and have been distributing to retailers since January of 2017. They started to distribute later than most producers because they intentionally took the time to carefully plan, design, and engineer a state-of-the-art facility that would allow them to efficiently grow high-quality cannabis for you. They are now producing about five hundred pounds of cannabis flower per month. This allows them to continually provide fresh, high-quality products to you at an affordable price.

Rochester Farms makes use of industrial automation borrowed from the tulip industry in Holland and is one of the most advanced irrigation systems in the cannabis sphere. Owner Marshall says that what initially got him interested in cannabis was the business opportunity. He says his son had some issues when he was young, including ulcerative colitis, and none of the medical care that he received was very effective at helping him. Once a friend suggested that Marshall try cannabis to help relieve his son’s symptoms, and they began to see improvement. As a businessman, Marshall realized that he had the skills under his belt to distribute this miracle plant to the people of Washington.

Growing & Cultivation

Rochester Farms makes use of flood and drain tables, also known as ebb and flow tables. In this system, the roots begin growing out of the rock wool cubes that they are planted in. The water irrigates about a quarter way up the cube, pushing all of the stale air out of the medium, and as the water then drains it will replenish the root cube with fresh oxygen. This is a very effective way of cultivating that does not involve a lot of irrigation. Their plants also receive full spectrum LED lights which ultimately deliver the best indoor light quality to the plants.

At Rochester Farms, they also make use of the “Sea of Green” technique. Sea of Green (often short-handed SOG) is a gardening method that growers use to grow the maximum number of plants possible in the shortest amount of time. To do this, they take small plants and quickly flip them right into flower. This is possible because their plants are grown from clones, not seeds. Plants that are grown from seed take at least 2 months to reach full maturity, whereas clones are taken from the apical meristem (the fastest growing part of a plant) of an already mature plant. The combination of these techniques along with the technology they implement allows Rochester Farms to consistently deliver quality product to retailers all over Washington.
