For the last 31 years, the Spokane Hoopfest Association has launched several programs, donated $2.5m back to local charitable organizations, and built over 30 community basketball courts in the Inland Northwest. They strive to inspire, connect, and grow basketball in the greater Spokane Community by offering the best and most inclusive basketball experiences on Earth. Since 1990, Hoopfest has built over 30 community outdoor basketball courts in the region. In addition, they’ve donated over $2.5 million to local organizations. This includes Special Olympics, their primary beneficiary, as well as community centers and various youth sports and learning programs.

 

Hoopfest 2024

This year, Hoopfest will take place the weekend of June 29th to 30th. Here, you can expect nearly 250,000 in attendance, 422 basketball courts, 24,000 players across 6,000+ teams, and 45 city blocks shut down for a weekend of unadulterated competition and fun! Hoopfest is one of the nation’s largest basketball festivals, attracting nearly 24,000 players from around 44 states and 6 countries (according to a 2019 survey).

Even if you didn’t sign up for the 3-on-3s, Hoopfest allows you to compete against other Hoopfesters with contests!

Baden Bump

Entrance Fee: $10 for 3 Shots

Show off your skills and outlast the competition in the exhilarating Baden Bump showdown at Hoopfest. This contest is open to all basketball enthusiasts. Detailed rules and regulations will be provided at the Baden Bump courts.

Rodda Paint Contest Zone

Entrance Fee: $5

The next contest you’ll want to check out is the Rodda Paint Contest Zone, which will be on The Bennett Block for Hoopfest 2024. Here, there will be 3 different challenges for hoopers to show off their skills: Free Throw, Three Point, and Hot Shot Competition. Contestants will be split up into three different age groups: Adult, High School, and Youth. When you enter these contests, you could have a shot at winning an Xbox One, an iPad, an official 2023 game ball, or gift cards to the Hoopfest store!

Toyota Shootoff

Entrance Fee: $10 for 3 Shots

For those who want to truly put their skills to the test, be sure to head to the Toyota Shootoff contest! Only the most talented long-range shooter will make it through the qualifying rounds to the Toyota Shootoff at Hoopfest 2024. Complete rules and regulations will be available at the Toyota Shootoff courts.

Lastly, be sure to check out the Multicare Slam Dunk Competition at Hoopfest 2024! This year, the Slam Dunk Competition takes place at the Northern Quest Center Court. Check out this contest to see some of Hoopfest’s best athletes soar! If you want to participate in the Slam Dunk Competition, be sure to sign up at the Northern Quest Center Court before the qualifying round begins on Saturday.

Charlie Butts has been playing the National Anthem on saxophone at sporting events since 1996. He is best known for his work in the R&B dance band Charlie Butts and the Filter Tips, for which he was elected into the Inland Empire Blues Society Hall of Fame.

Angela Tucker | Sunday, June 25th

Angela Tucker began singing in a motorcycle ministry geared toward outlaws within her family’s home church as a child. Today, Angela continues to sing on worship teams. Currently, she is serving at Spokane First Church of the Nazarene. Angela spent 7 years singing in a Christian rock band called “The Stand”. For the last year and a half, she has co-led a working band called “Haze”, performing classic rock around the Spokane and North Idaho area. Angela’s preferred style of music to perform is Gospel Blues. In fact, she’s even written some of her own original pieces.
