Starting off our list of Top 10 Spokane Halloween Events strong, there’s no better way to celebrate the season than checking out your local Halloween store. Whether you decide to stop by Spirit Halloween or Halloween Express, you’ll find yourself in a land of spooky wonders. In fact, wandering around the store is half the fun! Perusing the aisles as animatronic displays come to life almost feels like walking through a haunted house. As you make your way around the store, you’ll surely be filled with glee as you look upon all of the fun Halloween-themed wares and hot new costumes on the racks.
Halloween X-Spo
Up next on our list of Top 10 Spokane Halloween Events is the Halloween X-Spo. Halloween X-Spo is an all-ages Halloween-themed show that is owned and operated by the people who host Lilac City Comicon. When you enter the Halloween X-Spo show floor you will be greeted by four different themed photo booths that are free to take pictures in as music by Elektro Grave Entertainment plays overhead. As you make your way further into the convention center, you can also visit Special FX guest artist Kate Dixson as she creates magic in front of your eyes. Kate will be conducting live makeup demos by turning a live model into something amazing! This process will be ongoing on both days of the show, so make sure to stop by each day to see what she’s up to!
Obviously, Halloween X-Spo has to have a costume contest. There will be a contest for both adults and kids. The adult costume contest with be on Saturday 10/14 at a time that is TBA. This contest welcomes everyone, whether you come in a costume that’s store-bought or homemade. You can also join professional tarot card reader Doug aka Lovecraft Tarot who has almost a decade of practice under his belt. Doug will help you reach your highest potential, but there is a high chance that the message you receive may not be one you are ready to hear. Readings are first come, first serve and are free with a donation.
Scarywood
Moving along our list of Top 10 Spokane Halloween Events we have the classic Scarywood trip! Every year in October, the famous Silverwood Theme Park transforms into a playground for all things ghoulish, spooky, and downright scary. Aptly named Scarywood, this land of horrors is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night in October from 7pm-12pm (11pm on Thursdays).
Travel through the Scare Zones to Haunts like the Blood Bayou, where the blood flows freely and cannibals lurk around every corner. Even in areas between Haunts, you can expect to get your pants scared off by creatures lurking in the darkness of Scare Zones like Clown Town. Thrill seekers can still get their adrenaline fix on all of the same Silverwood rides you know and love. Be warned though, some rides have some tricks in store, like the Timber of Terror which rides backward all October long.
Friday the 13th Tattoo Celebration

For those who don’t know, it’s tradition in the tattoo community for local shops to offer discounted flash tattoos when the 13th falls on a Friday. This year, we’re lucky enough to witness that in the month of October for an extra spooky Friday the 13th! Many local shops like Iron & Gold Tattoo, Tiger Tattoo, and more are participating in this event. So, go get yourself some spooky ink this Halloween season!
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Creatures of the night get ready for our next pick on this list of Top 10 Spokane Halloween Events; Absolute Pleasure’s shadow cast performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Garland Theater! A night full of spooky, sexy fun awaits. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a crowd of scantily clad fans of the occult. So, expect lots of lace, lingerie, and lips! Plus, look out for the Horndog wrangling Rocky Horror “virgins” outside, he may just pick you out! This year, doors open at 11:30pm on Saturday, October 28th.
Ghost Ball

By attending the Ghost Ball, you’ll elevate children with special needs to reach their full potential. Your involvement offers families financial support to receive therapies and home therapy equipment. This year’s Ghost Ball at the Spokane Convention Center features silent and live auctions, a photo booth, a costume contest, a fry bar, dancing, trick or treat alley, and more.
Halloween Bar Crawl
Next up on our list of Top 10 Spokane Halloween Events is the annual Halloween Bar Crawl. This 2-day event takes place starting October 27th and 28th from 4pm-12am. This bar crawl features a drink included with your ticket, exclusive food and drink specials, waived cover fees, professional photographers, and a $1,000 costume contest! To start the crawl, you’ll need to check in at Fast Eddies between 4pm-6pm. Along the crawl route, you’ll find bars like Flatstick Pub, Gamer’s Arcade Bar, The Globe, and more!
Spooky Rave

From the people who brought you the Shrek Rave, the Spooky Rave is happening at the Knitting Factory on October 26th at 9pm. Into the Dark: A Grimm Cabaret
