If you’re looking for some good ol’ southern-style cookin’ here in Spokane, look no further than Chicken n’ More. Chicken n’ More has been recognized as an outstanding restaurant in several local publications like The Spokesman-Review. The genius behind this local favorite is Bob Hemphill. Bob has been bringing the taste of Texas to Spokane for a whopping 28 years. After owning multiple businesses in Spokane, he decided to establish some Texas flavor. As a result, he opened Chicken n’ More, which is now located in the heart of Downtown Spokane. Chicken n’ More has become known as the premier barbecue and fried chicken spot in Spokane. They have become recognized as a down-home place that serves the best fried chicken, moist and meaty spare ribs, juicy and tender beef brisket and pulled pork, and tasty catfish.
Chowderhead
If your munchies have you craving some fresh hot soup and sandwiches, satisfy your cravings at Chowderhead! This punk-rock sandwich restaurant serves great vibes alongside their tasty dishes. You’ll often find owner and head chef Travis Tveit in the back cooking up all the goods and bantering with his coworkers. If you’re looking for a chill dining experience on top of some top-notch soup and sandwiches, be sure to stop by Chowderhead.
Sweet Frostings
Got a sweet tooth? Sweet Frostings has the cure! Sweet Frostings is owned by the mother-and-daughter team of Sally and Jessica Winfrey. Sally was raised in the small town of Gig Harbor, Washington, and later attended Tacoma Community College for Business Management. After decorating cakes at Safeway for 11 years, she was promoted to bakery merchandiser and relocated to the Inland Northwest. Five years later, she became a Bakery Merchandiser for URM stores. Once the year 2000 rolled around, she took a position as a Bakery Sales Tech which gave her the opportunity to Attend the American Institute of Baking. From there, Sally was approached by her good friend Judy who had the idea of opening up a cupcake shop. Judy eventually went off to start another company, but Sally brought aboard her daughter Jessica and the two have run the shop together ever since.
Taco Vado
Craving tacos? Then stop by Taco Vado in their new dine-in building! What started as a small drive-thru taco stand has blossomed into a full-blown restaurant. Their menu offers a plethora of delicious dishes from burritos and tacos to salads and even an entire menu of vegan options!
Wisconsinburger
Nothing satisfies a heavy helping of the munchies like a nice juicy burger. Luckily, Wisconsinburger is here to help. Wisconsinburger is a local restaurant inspired by mom-and-pop burger shops in Wisconsin. They source their beef locally and grind it fresh every morning to give you the best possible burger experience. Beer drinkers will be happy to know that Wisconsinburger also offers 10 taps. In addition, they also stock 80+ canned bottled beers, ciders, and a selection of local wine.
