Best Tattoo Studio | Fortunata
Our first choice for the Inlander Best of 2024 Poll is Fortunata for Best Tattoo Studio. Fortunata won the Inlander’s Best Tattoo Studio in 2023, but we think they deserve to take the title home again. This tattoo studio is not only home to some of the most talented artists in Spokane but is also one of the most appealing and well-run shops I’ve ever been to. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a beautifully decorated modern-looking interior and their friendly front-desk attendant. The check-in is always super fast and straightforward as they have you fill everything out on their front-desk iPad. After you sign in, they usually offer you a free water/drip coffee as well which I personally love.
Their artist roster is also incredibly impressive, with artists who specialize in a variety of different styles. I’ve personally seen two of their artists (shoutout Detri and Yulie) and both of them were some of the sweetest artists I’ve ever met. Each of them made me feel super comfortable during my appointment and gave me some of my favorite tattoos.

Best Vintage Boutique | Atomic Threads
Another great business we want to show our love for in the Inlander Best of 2024 Poll is Atomic Threads for Best Vintage Boutique. Atomic Threads Boutique is the PNW’s first pin-up & alternative clothing store that is both size and gender inclusive! They bring in a wide variety of brands that fit a diverse spectrum of body types and offer many styles for the ultimate form of self-expression. Atomic Threads is a proud supporter – and part of – the LGBTQ+ community and strives to create a safe haven for everyone.
In addition to selling a diverse selection of vintage and vintage-inspired clothes, Atomic Threads is a home for local artists, designers, and craftspersons to sell their wares to the public. They offer a unique sales opportunity for artists, jewelry designers, sewists, crocheters, embroiderers, woodworkers, painters, and more who might not otherwise have a brick-and-mortar location to sell their wares. We love Atomic Threads not only for their amazing selection of vintage and vintage-inspired clothing but also for their work within the LGBTQ+ and creative communities here in Spokane.

Our next business we think deserves some love in the Inlander Best of 2024 Poll is Spectrum Center for Best Non-Profit Organization. Spectrum Center is an intersectional and intergenerational organization that uplifts the 2SLGBTQIA+ community here in Spokane. Spectrum’s mission is to create a safe community gathering space that celebrates a resilient, healthy community through social connectedness and support, arts and culture, access to resources, and leadership development. The long-term vision is for Spectrum to be the primary change agent for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by advocating for social progress in Eastern Washington. They support a thriving and diverse population through education, social events, services, social activism, visibility, and by uplifting and collaborating with other organizations.

Best Thrift Shop | Global Neighborhood
Another business we think deserves to win the Inlander Best of 2024 Poll is Global Neighborhood for Best Thrift Shop. We love Global Neighborhood not only for their huge selection of second-hand goods but also for their involvement in the community. Global Neighborhood offers pathways to employment for our neighbors who have come to Spokane as refugees, providing work through their sustainable, accessible thrift and vintage store. Refugees receive job training, income, and a community of support to rebuild their lives in the U.S. Global Neighborhood provides a safe and welcoming space for refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants to learn how to navigate life in their new home. Their selection of second-hand goods is also one of the best in town. This store is housed in a massive warehouse with everything from clothes to furniture and more.

Our next pick for the Inlander Best of 2024 Poll is Jedi Alliance for Best Arcade.
