On Thursday, September 28th, the fair will be hosting a traditional Ranch Rodeo. Here, contestants compete as teams from ranches, instead of as individuals like a “regular” rodeo. While the number of team members can vary, 4 or 5 members per team is common.  These cowboys and cowgirls will “Ride for the Brand” on Thursday night as they participate in events that duplicate the type of work they perform on a daily basis.

Afterwards on Friday and Saturday, the Pete Domenici Arena will be the home of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association with contestants coming from all over the US to compete.  A third performance has been added at noon on Saturday to provide more professional rodeo action than ever before.  HiLo ProRodeo, one of the fastest-growing stock contractors in the nation, will be bringing the best in bucking stock and the fastest roping and doggin’ animals to add to the excitement. The SNMSF has a reputation for putting on an outstanding rodeo, and this year will be even bigger and better! Finally, on Sunday, there will be a fast-paced open barrel race.  You’ll be amazed by the speed and agility of these cowgirls and their horses.
