Happy Danksgiving! As Thanksgiving day gets closer and closer, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to cook for your spread. Last year, we shared some cannabis-infused recipes for your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole. This year, we’re moving on to the main dish. That’s right, we’re infusing the turkey! Now, we know that not everyone in your family is going to want to get high off of the turkey, so we’ve come up with the perfect solution. Cannabis-infused turkey glazes! That’s right, just serve any of these glazes alongside your turkey so your guests can dose as they please while enjoying some delicious and uniquely flavored glazes.

Calculating Potency

Syringe of Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) Cannabis Distillate Concentrate

Before we begin, it is very important to know the proper math to do when calculating how much RSO/distillate you want to infuse your recipe with. Typically, RSO/Distillate syringes contain 1g of concentrate. To calculate the potency of the entire 1g syringe, you want to multiply the potency percentage (in decimal form) by 1000mg. So, for example, a concentrate that tests at 93% will have around 930mg of THC in the entire syringe because 1000mg x 0.93 = 930mg.

  • 1 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons (1/2 stick) Unsalted Butter, Room Temperature
  • 1/4 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 4 Teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 Sprigs (or Teaspoons) of Rosemary
  • 3 Garlic Cloves, Crushed
  • 1 Whole Orange Peel
  • 1 RSO or Distillate Syringe

Start by putting a small saucepan over medium heat. Add in 4 tbsp. butter. Once the butter begins to melt, add in your desired amount of RSO/distillate. Once the butter and RSO/distillate are fully combined, add in your ¼ cup red wine vinegar, 2 tbsp. honey, 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce, 3 sprigs of rosemary, 3 crushed garlic cloves, and orange peel. Continue cooking until the mixture begins to bubble and thicken, this will be about 5 minutes. Once your mixture is thick and homogenous, reduce the heat to the lowest setting to keep your glaze warm. Finally, use a glazing brush to apply the glaze to your turkey.

Ingredients
  • 1 Stick (8 Tablespoons) Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Apple Juice
  • 1/4 Cup Bourbon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 RSO/Disitllate Syringe

Once the RSO/distillate and butter are fully combined, add in the apple juice, bourbon, maple syrup, and ground black pepper. Turn the heat up to medium-high and then heat the mixture until boiling. Once the mixture begins to boil, reduce back down to medium heat. Cook for 24-28 minutes or until the mixture is reduced by half. Be sure to keep an eye on our mixture throughout the process. The mixture is done when it has reached a thin glaze consistency. Don’t worry, it will thicken as it cools.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 Cups Dark Maple Syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons Prepared Horseradish, Drained
  • 1 Tablespoon Ancho Chile Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 2 Teaspoons Ground Black Pepper
  • Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 1 RSO/Distillate Syringe

Once the coconut oil is melted, add in your desired amount of RSO/distillate and stir until the two ingredients are completely combined. Now, take 1 1/2 cups dark maple syrup and combine it with your cannabis-infused coconut oil, whisking until homogenous. Once the mixture is complete, add in the horseradish, chile powder, salt, and pepper and then whisk to combine. After all of the ingredients have been combined, let the glaze sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes. The glaze can then be used or stored (covered) for up to 2 days.
