Growing Method at Herba
Herba utilizes state of the art Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) methods to create high yields of clean, safe, high quality and pesticide-free, indoor-grown cannabis. Close control over light levels and spectrum, temperatures, humidity, CO2, airflow, plant fertility, crop schedules, and the exclusion of contaminants are the essential aspects of their system.
Herba excludes disease and pest organisms from the garden through the deliberate practice of clean techniques. For example, they employ up to 5 different species of biocontrol allies to continually patrol the yard to find and consume any insects or mites that may have gotten in the door. The grow itself is managed directly by their team, which ensures that the highest level of ethics and efficiency are maintained.
Once the plants are fully grown and harvested, they begin the critical dry and cure phase. At this point, they use a cold and slow process of drying at the optimal humidity level to ensure an even dryness in the flower that preserves terpenes, cannabinoids, and overall quality and freshness. Pest Management Methods at Herba
Firstly, Herba starts with their own plants and never take in cuttings from other sources, which is why they have been working with their own genetics for years. Any new cannabis introductions are from seed, which ensures they don’t bring in any hidden pests from other grows. Sealing the grow rooms ensured that no outside air could infiltrate their systems. The seal minimizes exposure of their grow rooms to the ever-present microscopic mites and molds that are present in the air. They use Airoclean 420 devices in their flower rooms to sterilize the air throughout the production cycle, which eliminates airborne contaminants such as mold spores.

In addition to sanitizing the floors and trays, Herba runs ozone in the flower rooms. Ozone is also used to sanitize all the fans to sanitize the air, equipment, and surfaces.
