A new brand has officially hit the shelves here at Cinder: SKöRD! While we currently only offer them at our Valley store, we plan to bring them to our other locations very soon. SKöRD is on a mission to change the way people think about and experience top-shelf cannabis flower and extracts. With this intention, pheno hunting is a core part of the process and philosophy at SKöRD. Their goal is to curate a diverse and exciting line-up of unique genetics. The Selection Process

The process of pheno hunting is a pivotal point where the craft cannabis community separates from the growing industry of mass-produced cannabis. It’s labor intensive, detail-oriented, and often requires the experience of a tenured grower to effectively narrow the selection down to the one perfect keeper. In this field, starting with great genetics is only the first step. During the pheno hunt process, the team at SKöRD searches through roughly 30-50 seedlings at a time. As they do this, they are looking for specific traits and characteristics. As a result, only the best of the best make it to the flowering room where their progress will continue to be documented and judged. During this process, the team at SKöRD assesses the following qualities: vigor, growth, bud structure, resin development, flavor, and aroma. Ultimately, their grow team can spend upwards of 10 months working to find one single keeper pheno.

The first strain from SKöRD that we want to highlight is Lemon Shortbread. Lemon Shortbread is a slightly sativa-dominant hybrid strain that crosses Lemon Skunk with SinMint Cookies. This strain gets its name thanks to its delicious lemon shortbread flavor. Lemon Shortbread is the perfect strain for any hybrid lover looking for an energizing high that lasts for hours.
