In a sprawling manor in the town of Mayflower Falls, the Dread family is hosting their yearly Thanksgiving dinner. At Cranberries, Turkey, and Murder, you have the option of being a murder mystery character or just an observer. But, these mystery events are not set up like a play. This murder mystery is a hands-on, immersive experience. For those not wishing to be in character, you will need to work harder to gather clues. You will be given a brief description of the main characters and will witness the murder, investigation, evidence presentation, and finally, the solution. For those who choose to be characters, you will be given step-by-step instructions on how to play your character for the night. But, it will be up to you to show off your character’s personality and expand on your objectives.
Fall Folk Festival
Moving along our list of Spokane Thanksgiving events happening this year is the Fall Folk Festival. Head over to Spokane Community College the weekend of November 11th for a weekend packed full of family fun. The first Fall Folk Festival took place in 1996. It was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church with about a dozen groups performing. This first Fall Folk Festival happened to take place during a severe ice storm. Luckily, the Festival was one of the few places in town that had power and hot food. Consequently, more than 350 people attended the first festival. Since then, the festival has grown rapidly and attracts around 5,000 attendees each year.
